    • ]]>     The resistance of a security is the local ceiling on how high the value can go. This term is commonly referred to through technical analysis.

    A line of resistance is usually created with some sort of price level where a security has had trouble moving any passed. A break above that ceiling would be considered bullish and that resistance would now become support.
